Legally cats have to be visited at least once every 24 hours.  Please note I will not agree to less than this as it falls below my cat sitting welfare standards & insurance requirements.  I usually recommend 2 x 20-30 minute visits per day or as a minimum 1 x 30 minute visit per day.

It is much safer to keep cats indoors during their owner's absence, but appreciate that this is not always possible if your cat is used to outdoor access & being kept in would cause them to become stressed.  If your house is in a quiet area & away from busy roads & you wish to keep your cat flap open to allow them free access outside I would ask that you sign a disclaimer stating that you are aware of the risks of this.  

It is much safer to keep cats indoors during their owner's absence & I will only agree to your cat being left outside all day with the following conditions:- Your cat must already have & be accustomed to using a safe outdoor shelter (eg a catio, shed, garage or an outdoor cat house) with access to drinking water outside. This shelter must be waterproof in case of inclement weather & be comfortable should your cat wish to snooze the day away. Your house must be located in a quiet area away from busy roads. You will be asked to sign a disclaimer stating that you are aware of the risks of this.

If you are requesting this during School holidays / Bank Holidays the answer will be “No sorry”. These are now being booked up 2-3 months in advance.  I will gladly give you details of other pet sitters in the area.
